Floral tributes at scene of Strood motorbike tragedy

Floral tributes have been left at the spot where a motorcyclist was killed in Strood.

A 32-year-old man from Higham was fatally injured in a head-on collision with a car in Cuxton Road on Saturday.

The victim, who was driving a green Kawasaki motorbike, has not yet been named by police. A post mortem examination is expected to take place today, Tuesday.

The driver and passengers in the silver Vauxhall Vectra are not thought to have been injured in the crash, which happened at 4.30pm between the Hawthorn Road and Temple Gardens.

A card left at the scene reads: “Ashley, we will all miss you so much, still can’t believe you’re gone. RIP you big softy. Lots of love Amy, Emma and Kevin.”

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538.
