Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish praised the contribution of Peter Vaisanen to his side’s success this season after the American import preserved Dynamos’ unbeaten home record on Sunday.

The former US college player, who joined the Dynamos during the summer, scored Invicta’s equaliser 13 minutes from the end of their 2-2 draw with Chelmsford Chieftains to keep the Medway side five points clear at the top of ENHL Division 1 South.

It also lifted the Canadian’s goal tally to 27 in 17 games, with 24 assists and Parrish said: "Vas has definitely been one of our leading players so far this season.

"He seems to thrive on pressure and hasn’t had a bad game for us yet."

Vaisanen arrived at the club at the same time as Dynamos’ other overseas summer signing, Johan Stenvall, but the Swede decided to return home last month after failing to settle in the Medway area.

Vaisanen, however, is having no such problems, according to Parrish, who added: "Peter has settled in quickly and he loves it here.

"He has come over here to see the country as well as playing hockey and because we are close to London, it’s ideal for him."

This Sunday Invicta are at home to Haringey Greyhounds (5.15pm).

They will again be without Grant Baxter who is taking a delayed honeymoon over the Christmas period.
