Invicta Dynamos ice hockey coach Kevin Parrish is relieved that two of his most influential players from last season, Jack Tarczycki and Laurance Billing, have both signed for another year.

"There are going to be several changes in the squad for next season," Parrish said.

"So it’s good that Jack and Laurence are both staying because you want a few players in the team who know your coaching methods and who are players that you can trust to deliver the goods."

Tarczycki, a 19-year-old defence man, joined the Dynamos from English Premier League (EPL) outfit the Bracknell Bees at the start of last season and, apart from proving a reliable figure in defence, also contributed some valuable goals.

Parrish added: "With (defenders) Ryan Giles and Adam Copeland having moved on, there will be a lot of responsibility on Jack’s shoulders next season but I am sure he will able to handle it.

"He’s got a lot of potential and this will give him the chance to put himself in the shop window with a view to eventually returning to the EPL."

The Dynamos coach has a similar faith in Billing who, following a two-year spell out of the game, became increasingly dangerous in attack last season and Parrish has already set him a stiff goal scoring target for the forthcoming campaign.

"I have said to Laurence that he should be aiming to get 35 points by Christmas and I know he’s capable of doing it," he said.

"He had a very good points to ice time ratio last season and with his skill and work rate he could play a major role as we bid to defend our ENHL (Division 1 South) championship."
