Invicta Dynamos have signed young netminder Shane Kemp from Streatham Redskins.

Kemp starred for Streatham last season and won the coach’s player-of-the-year platinum award, the supporters' club player-of-the-season award and the committee player-of-the season award.

Dynamos coach Kevin Parrish said: "They were well deserved accolades for a netminder that had become one of the key figures in his side despite his young age and with his consistently excellent displays he quickly forced himself to the top of my list of potential summer signings.

"Shane Kemp is already a formidable netminder but he has the potential to become even stronger. He was outstanding for Streatham last season playing nearly 1,500 minutes in the crease, facing an average of 34 shots a game and posting an excellent save percentage of over 90 per cent.

"Now, though, just as many top players do, have done and will always continue to do in the future, he has opted to move on and test himself with a new club and we are delighted to welcome him to Gillingham to ice for the Dynamos.

"This summer we ourselves saw top players like Ryan Giles and Adam Copland depart for a new challenge but with the new campaign fast approaching we are now putting the finishing touches to what should be a very competitive team."

Kemp spent several of his junior seasons at Romford before icing for the Slough Harrier Hawks, the EPL Jets’ development side, in 2007/08, ahead of his time with Streatham.
