A short video of the staff - including emergency services, local councils, health partners and essential service providers - shows them reminding people to follow the government's advice.

It is part of the #MedwayTogether and #KentTogether campaign.

Leader of Medway Council Cllr Alan Jarrett said: "Public sector colleagues are working even harder during the pandemic to help protect and support residents.

"Thank you to all key workers and Medway Council staff for your valiant and determined efforts during these challenging times."

He said the council has provided 76,000 meals to Medway residents most in need of extra support - thanks to the support of partner agencies.

The council has also dealt with 1,500 applications for business grants and paid out almost £19 million to businesses.

Director of public health at Medway Council, James Williams, said: "Agencies across Kent and Medway are working tirelessly throughout the pandemic to help support residents and protect our NHS.

"Medway Council staff have joined colleagues from emergency services and other public sector organisations to thank and remind residents to stay at home to do their bit to avoid putting a strain on the NHS.

"Social distancing measures help reduce the spread of this virus and consequently see fewer people needing hospital treatment - by staying at home you really are making a difference to someone’s life."
