A knifepoint robber from Gillingham who stole wallets from two men has been locked up for more than a decade.

Brian Williams followed one man to his home in Foord Road, Folkestone on Wednesday, April 24.

Williams, 32, then grabbed him as he reached his gate and pulled a knife from his sleeve, and threatened to stab him if he didn't had over his cash.

The thief then snatched the man's wallet and ran away.

Williams, of Duncan Road, struck again on Monday, July 22 in High Street, Gillingham, where he approached a man and attempted to steal his wallet.

When the victim tried to stop him, Williams produced a knife, grabbed the wallet and ran off.

CCTV connected Williams to the robberies and he was arrested.

He appeared at Maidstone Crown Court this week and pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

Williams was jailed for 10 years and nine months.

PC Nicola Emery, who investigated the case said: "Williams showed complete disregard for the fear and distress that threatening a person with a knife causes.

"There is no justification for such behaviour and I am pleased he will no longer threaten innocent members of the public."
