A car wash worker lashed out with a knife during an "astonishing and fearsome" incident after a landlord tried to stop a violent row between her and a lover.

Angry Alicja Orminska lashed out at Krzysztof Dobosz with a kitchen knife as he tried to placate the furious couple, a court has heard.

Mr Dubosz and his wife had arrived home in Chatham, late at night on October 23, 2019 to be greeted by shouting, fighting and Orminska's partner covered in blood.

Maidstone Crown Court heard how when he intervened, Orminska unleashed what was described by a judge as the 'most astonishing and fearsome' threats before she stabbed him in his back with a kitchen knife.

The 31-year-old's boyfriend also joined in, throttling Mr Dobosz until he lost consciousness but the knife wound was said to be 'relatively minor' with no lasting physical damage.

Polish-born Orminska's boyfriend then fled the property while she was arrested at the scene, telling police that her landlord and his wife were liars.

However, in July this year she pleaded guilty to an offence of unlawful wounding minutes before her trial was due to start.

"You and your partner subjected the landlord to a terrifying ordeal..."

The court heard she spent six months in custody on remand after her arrest, which the judge, Recorder Cairns Nelson QC said enabled him to suspend a two-year jail term for two years.

He told her "You and your partner subjected the landlord to a terrifying ordeal. He tried to intervene and calm things down, instead you attacked him, armed with a knife," said the judge.

"Not only that, your partner joined in and throttled the victim to the point of him passing out. You stabbed him with that knife and he sustained a minor wound to his back.

"You were threatening to kill him. You were drunk and out of control. This was a terrifying attack for Mr and Mrs Dobosz. She had to watch her husband being assaulted in front of her.

"Then you had the lack of remorse to call them liars in interview."

Orminska, of Luton Road, Chatham, must carry out 80 hours of unpaid work for the community and take part in 30 rehabilitation activity sessions.

The car wash worker was also ordered to pay £300 compensation to Mr Dobosz within three months and given a five-year restraining order.
