Man robbed by knife-wielding driver in Borstal Road, after offering him a lift to Rochester

A man who was offered a lift by a stranger was then robbed at knifepoint by the man.

Detectives investigating the robbery which happened in Rochester on Friday, September 22, say the offender approached the victim, a man in his 40s, at a bus shop in High Street, Strood, and offered him a lift home.

The two walked towards the Aldi supermarket in Friary Place, got in the car, and drove to Borstal Road.

Once there the driver then stopped the vehicle, threatened the victim with a knife and demanded he hand over his cash.

The victim is then alleged to have handed over a quantity of cash and got out of the blue-coloured hatchback.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 8pm and 8.30pm and the suspect is white aged in his 20s or 30s, 5ft 10in, with fair hair, and of a medium build.

He was reported to have worn dark-coloured trousers and a dark-coloured polo top.
The vehicle he was driving had four doors.
