Medical emergency in Rochester yards away from Warren Wood Primary School

Emergency services closed a road yards from a primary school this afternoon due to a medical emergency.

Police and paramedics were called to City Way, Rochester, near to Warren Wood Primary at 3.30pm.

A woman was seen being tended to in nearby Arethusa Road.

It is believed she fell ill while in the passenger seat of a car which was driving along the street.

An eye witness said: "I drove past saw someone in the road and someone was helping her, it was a woman on the road.

"It look like the woman tending to her was crying.

"There were several police cars, two ambulances and a bus stuck at the end of Arethusa Road which they closed after I came through it.

Ambulance crews were called at 3.30pm and the road was closed at 3.42pm by police at both ends.

Police spokesman Jo Pattison said: "Officers were called to City Way, Rochester at around 3.30pm on Wednesday 8 January 2020 to assist the South East Coast Ambulance Service with a medical incident."
