The Strand Lesuire Park is to get a new training facility for parkour.

Parkour is a sport which involves running, jumping and climbing for one location to another using elements of the environment.

The development is part of a £37,000 project which is part of a deal whereby developers have to improve local green spaces and other key services.

Weather permitting, the work is anticipated to be completed by the end of spring.

Cllr Howard Doe, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: "This will be a great facility for people of all ages to learn a new sport.

"The facility has been designed specifically with parkour in mind and I’m looking forward to seeing the completed circuit."
