Play a part in new movie

A film about gangs is being shot in Medway and the producers are looking for raw local talent.

The movie, Rivals of Medway, has been written by local actor and screenwriter Stuart Buck, whose own acting experience includes working on film sets with stars such as Donald Sutherland and Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood.

Writing the script has been a project of passion for Stuart over the last two years.

He cites his inspirations for writing from the likes of Guy Ritchie and Nick Love, who was responsible for Football Factory.

The plot is set in Medway, and follows the story of Jamie Williams, out to avenge the death of his older brother, who was killed at the hands of local gangster Cameron Page. As the storyline escalates, more violence ensues between Jamie’s and Cameron’s gangs.

The film, produced by MJP Entertainment, will begin rehearsals in late September, with filming between October and December.

The film will then be screened to the public in Medway early next year.

Stuart said “We hope to invite VIPs from the film industry along to see the film as we hope to make it a big success. If it is successful I’d love to see it released as a feature film in cinemas sometime in the future.”

The auditions take place at The Brook Theatre, Chatham on Friday, September 12 between 5-9pm.
