Police hunt thug over Rochester street attack

A thug is being hunted by police after punching a Gravesend man in the face in an unprovoked attack, which shattered his cheek bone.

Detectives say the attack happened near to the Casino Nightclub in Blue Boar Lane, Rochester, in the early hours of Saturday, July 17.

It happened at a time when lots of people would have been in the area and may have seen it happen.

The was trying to flag down a taxi when he was approached by the thug who punched him in the face.

The injured man, 25, was taken to hospital and had suffered a fractured cheekbone.

The assault happened at some point between 1am and 2am and the man police would like to speak to about it, was wearing a beige or peach coloured polo shirt.

He is also said to be of stocky build aged between 20 and 30.

DC Mark Silk said: "There were a lot of people out and about in that area of Rochester between these times, so I believe that someone must have seen the assault take place.

"I would like to hear from anyone who has information that may help to identify the man responsible for this unprovoked attack."
