Police called to serious crash near A228 Four Elms Hill roundabout, Wainscott

Emergency services were called after a three-vehicle crash near a busy roundabout.

Police diverted traffic away from the area following the accident on the Wainscott bypass near the bottom of the A228 Four Elms Hill.

Officers and paramedics were called around 12.40pm with one of the drivers being treated at the scene for injuries.

He has since been taken to a hospital.

The M2-bound carriageway was closed to traffic while highways officers arranged for the recovery of the vehicles.

Traffic coming from the Strood direction was being stopped from entering the M2-bound lanes.

Vehicles were being sent through Wainscott, up onto the peninsula or back in the direction they came.

A police car was blocking the road with two officers directing traffic.

All lanes have since been reopened.
