Road rage scuffle witness appeal

An elderly driver was allegedly punched during a road rage incident in Chatham.

The indecent happened in New Road on Friday, April 15, but details have only just been released by police.

Detectives are looking for witnesses to come forward as many people may have been driving along the road at the time.

The 75-year-old man and his wife were driving along the road between 11.35am and 11.40am, when they spotted a man standing in the middle of the road.

When the driver told him to get out of the way, it is alleged the man came round to the driver's side window and punched him.

A scuffle broke out between him, the driver and his wife.

A 33-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed until tomorrow (Thursday).
