Teenager stabbed in gang attack outside Strood Sports Centre

A teenager was stabbed outside a leisure centre after an alleged gang attack.

The 18-year-old victim was injured following the assault at Strood Leisure Centre in Watling Street at 8.20pm on Monday.

Police cordoned the area off for much of the day yesterday.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses.

Paramedics treated the man for a stab wound to his arm, police said.

He was then taken to hospital.

Detectives spent much of the day at the leisure centre carrying out forensic investigations and reviewing CCTV footage.

They have also been carrying out further inquiries in the area.

Two teenagers – aged 19 – from the Grain area were arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault.

The pair were released on bail to return to the police station on July 3.
