Two more cases of swine flu have been confirmed in Medway.

It brings the total number of cases in the Towns to three.

NHS Medway says the patients – two men and one woman – are all being treated with antiviral medication.

Anyone who has been in close contact with them has been contacted by the Health Protection Agency so they too can start treatment with antivirals.

Dr Alison Barnett, Medway’s Director of Public Health, said: "Two cases were confirmed today and one on Monday, bringing the total in Medway to three.

"Two of the patients are believed to have caught the infection in this country. The third is believed to have caught it abroad.

"We would like to reassure the public that symptoms in the vast majority of confirmed cases are mild.

"If anyone is worried, we would encourage them to call the Swine Flu information line on 0800 1513 513.

"If a person has flu-like symptoms and has recently returned from one of the countries where Swine Flu has been identified or has been in contact with a case of Swine Flu, they should stay at home and contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or phone their GP."
