Samuel Edwards and Benjamin Waller charged with assault, carrying weapons, and robbery after an alleged night of violence Rochester

Two men have been charged with a string of violent offences after a night of chaos.

It was reported to Kent Police that in just an hour there were a number of disturbances in Rochester including beatings and robberies.

Between 1am and 2am people in Delce Road, Cecil Road and St Williams Way were all allegedly targeted.

Samuel Christopher Edwards, 21, of Albany Road, Chatham, has been charged with three counts of assault (ABH), possessing an offensive weapon in public, three counts of robbery, affray, three counts of assault by beating (battery), resisting a constable in the execution of their duty and possessing a Class B drug.

Benjamin Michael Waller, 27, of Albert Place, Strood, has been charged with three counts of assault (ABH), possessing an offensive weapon in public, three counts of robbery, affray, three counts of assault by beating (battery) and resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.

They are due to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on November 9.

The incident is reported to have happened on Sunday April 19.
