Gillingham have completed the paperwork on new signing Mustapha Carayol and he is included in their squad to face Lincoln City.
The Gills were awaiting international clearance on the 32-year-old winger who is named among the substitutes for the League 1 opener on Saturday.
Gillingham suggested a deal was close on Thursday after including him in the official photoshoot but the club were awaiting clearance before announcing any more on the signing.
Following his inclusion in the squad, the Gills tweeted: “You will have noticed that Mustapha Carayol has been named on the bench.
“The international clearance deadline was met, meaning he can be involved today. Welcome to the club, Mustapha!”
Carayol was with Turkish side Adana Demirspor after a year with Cypriot side Apollon Limassol.
He could make his Gills debut against one of his former teams, Lincoln City.
The well-travelled wide-man last played in England for Ipswich Town and has previously been at Nottingham Forest, Leeds, Huddersfield, Brighton and Middlesbrough.
He has been handed shirt number 24 by the Gills, who still have a vacancy for the number nine shirt.
