West Ham's England under-19 midfielders Keira Flannery and Halle Houssein have signed for Gillingham Women; Charlton's Mary Bashford returns

Gillingham Women’s newly signed England youth internationals are set for their debuts this Sunday.

The Gills have made three new signings this week including two England under-19 internationals on dual registration deals from West Ham United.

Midfielders Keira Flannery, 17, and 18-year-old Halle Houssein have both signed from West Ham for the rest of the season ahead of Gillingham’s return to action against Portsmouth Women.

The Gills - who were without a game last Sunday - are in action at Chatham Town’s Bauvil Stadium in the Southern Premier Division, with a 2.30pm kick off.

Flannery - who was previously at Arsenal - recently impressed for Paul Konchesky’s West Ham side in their 2-0 FA Cup win against Wolves, named player-of-the-match. She has made five appearances this season and is an England under-19 regular.

Houssein is also a former Arsenal junior and has made eight appearances for West Ham and is another regular for England under-19s.

The Gills said: “Both players are tipped for big things and we can’t wait to see these Lionesses become part of the GWFC team.”

Their arrivals come off the back of Mary Bashford’s signing on a dual registration from Charlton Athletic Women.

Bashford - another midfielder - was on loan at the club last season where she scored on her debut and the Gills are looking forward to welcoming her back into action.

Sunday’s attendance should be swelled by complimentary tickets that the club have been handing out to local schools. Admission prices are £5 adults and £1 children.

Chatham Town season ticket holders can get in for free while Gillingham fans with season passes can pay half price on the gate fee.
