Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh considers loan signings after more injuries hit already depleted squad

Justin Edinburgh is on the hunt for reinforcements.

Gillingham’s injury woes deepened at the weekend and manager Edinburgh is now looking for help.

A welcome 3-0 win over Crewe came at a cost, with a hamstring injury to loan defender Adam El-Abd and an Achilles problem for skipper Doug Loft.

Edinburgh was already without Cody McDonald, Bradley Dack, John Egan, Ryan Jackson, Adam Chicksen and youngster Elliott List at the weekend.

He will now ask for additional funds in a bid to bolster the injury-hit squad.

“We couldn’t even field a full subs bench and it is a really difficult time for us,” said Edinburgh.

“We will assess it on Monday and see if the chairman will allow us to bring reinforcements in.

“I have always said the chairman will always help us in any way he can.

“It is something we are being forced to do.”
