Invicta Dynamos completed their ENIHL Cup South group schedule with a 4-3 victory at Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday, taking this season’s cup record to eight wins from eight games.

Icing without defensive linchpins Adam Copland and Tim Smith and offensive threats Milan Kostolny and Martin Melichercik, Kevin Parrish’s side struggled early on and found themselves a goal down at 4.56 when Danny Hammond’s wrist shot beat Joe White.

Invicta’s reply came with 35 seconds left in the first period when Anthony Leone and AJ Smith set up Jack Tarczycki who beat home keeper Michael Robinson to level the score.

With just over a minute gone after the restart the away side took the lead as Karl Lennon scored following a Laurence Billing set-up.

Leone added a superb third at 28.56 from an Andy Smith assist before hitting his second in the third period after Billing provided the ammunition once again.

A late Chelmsford rally saw Hammond and Jerry Pavlus reduce the lead with powerplay markers, but Invicta had already done enough to extend their unbeaten streak in all competitions to 13 games.
