Striker Danny Kedwell is likely to miss one more weekend for the Gills.

Boss Peter Taylor has pencilled him in for a return on October 18, away at Rochdale.

A knee injury has kept him sidelined for the whole of September.

The 31-year-old was back with the specialist last week and with stitches from last month’s operation now gone, he can start stepping up his rehabilitation.

Taylor said: “The specialists are pleased with his knee. They are saying to us don’t push it too early.

"If we get him in too early because we desperately need him then we are taking a risk and we won’t do that.

“I would say Scunthorpe (on Saturday) will be a week too early. A week after that, Rochdale away, he has a very good chance of being involved then.

“He will be doing a lot of stuff before then and his fitness is still good, he has worked really hard at that and his weight and it is still very good.”
