Lordswood moved to the top of the Kent Cricket League Premier Division with a 71-run win over Sevenoaks Vine on Saturday.

Half-centuries from Joe Gordon (54) and Calum MacLeod (73) were the mainstays of Lordswood's total of 278-7 in 45 overs after they were invited to bat first.

Opener Linden Lockhart (38) and Jack Laraman (34) also contributed while Andrew Reid-Dick was the pick of the Sevenoaks attack with 3-50.

Kent's Ben Compton hit 67 in 77 balls in Sevenoaks' reply, but Michael Cowdrey (37) was the only other batsman in the top six to reach double figures.

Hugh Scott (2-35) took two early wickets while Laraman returned 3-33 in eight overs, including Cowdrey, as Lordswood eased to victory.

Joe Banks scored an unbeaten 33 but Sevenoaks, chasing a revised target of 289, ended up well short on 217-7.

Former leaders Tunbridge Wells went down by seven wickets against Minster at The Nevill.

Captain Ed Moore's decision to bowl first was vindicated as Daniel Masters (2-18) picked up a couple of early wickets as Wells reached 31-2 and then 116-5.

It needed a half-century from Calvin Johnson (62) to lead a recovery of sorts from the home side. Sam Smith (32) and Hugo Williams (23 not out) helped them to 214-8 in 50 overs. Aron Nijjar (2-44) and James Hockley (2-38) helped check their progress.

Hockley then took charge in Minster's reply, carrying his bat for an unbeaten 84 in 94 balls, an innings which included 11 boundaries.

Nijjar hit a six and seven fours in his 56 while Kai Appleby (25 not out) helped Minster, who have moved up to fifth place, to 215-3 with nearly 12 overs to spare.

Bexley sit third after Blackheath picked up only their second victory of the summer.

Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Bexley were all out for 145 in 42 overs.

Opener Shaun Evans top scored with 41 but Matthew Golding (3-19), Arafat Bhuiyan (2-48) and Jahid Ahmed (2-27) ensured they went from 88-2 to 122-7.

Time was never going to prove a problem for Blackheath as they eased to 146-5 inside 27 overs, George Wells made 35 and Golding was 39 not out. Ahmed Jamal took 3-44 for Bexley.

Australian James Bazley continued to impress for Sandwich Town, helping them to an emphatic 118-run success over St Lawrence & Highland Court.

Invited to bat first, Sandwich openers Zack Fagg (64) and Ben Chapman (35) put on 80 for the first wicket.

Rory Smith added 37 before Bazley and Tom Burnap put on an unbroken 128 for the fifth wicket in double-quick time.

Bazley hit three sixes and five fours in his 41-ball 55 while Burnap was unbeaten on 68 from just 51 balls, with 10 fours and a six. It meant Sandwich reached an imposing 276-4 in 39 overs.

St Lawrence quickly slipped to 37-3 in reply and never really recovered. Oliver Curtiss provided some fireworks with 61 not out in just 34 balls, including eight fours and two sixes, but they never threatened a revised target of 284.

Bazley took 4-19 in six overs and Ben Smith added 2-43 as St Lawrence were dismissed for 165 in 29.3 overs.

Hayes made it back-to-back wins after defeating Holmesdale, who are now bottom, by eight wickets.

William MacVicar took 5-35 in 8.4 overs and received support from Stuart Eddicott (2-28) and Andrew Eddicott (2-15) as Holmesdale were skittled out for just 98 in 32.4 overs. Ollie Chaplin top scored with 23.

Hayes opener Gareth Severin guided his team home with 43 not out from just 36 balls while Finlay Baker finished 22 not out as they eased to 99-2 in less than 18 overs, William Harby taking 2-37.
