A BLAZE of decorated bras is set to brighten the seafront on Saturday evening worn by women walkers embarking on a Twilight Stroll.

Participants set off from Hampton to Whitstable and back to raise money for Walk the Walk.

This charity is dedicated not only to promoting power walking, but also raising awareness of breast cancer and encouraging people to lead healthier lifestyles.

Last year’s stroll was a first for the town but it proved so successful it set high standards that organisers are hoping to exceed this year.

And it is never too late to enter.

Debby Marman , organiser and Herne Bay Rowing Club secretary, said: “We had over 250 women braving a really windy evening to walk 10km in their bras and they raised in excess of £7,500.

“I hope all those women and many more will join us this year to raise even more money. We will be welcoming any women walkers right up to the moment we set off.”

That moment is 8pm on Saturday from the Hampton Pier car park.

The ladies will walk 10km to Whitstable, finishing back at the rowing club in Herne Bay, and while decorated bras are not essential they are encouraged.

All participants will be entered into a raffle for the chance to win prizes such as a lady’s mountain bike donated by Motorworld or a pampering session at the Robert Mitchell Salon.

Entry for the Twilight Stroll is £10 per person for those who register in advance, or £12 on the day.

Pick up a form from Debby Marman via email to dvdmarm@tiscali.co.uk or call her on 01227 264427.

Alternatively, turn up at the car park before 8pm with £12, a decorated bra and a pair of sturdy boots.
