With only the bare essentials, Strood couple Fiona Lincoln and Mark Stephenson set off on a 220-mile trek.

The naturists should arrive at The Outdoor Show in Birmingham today after leaving the Thames Barrier seven days ago. The cheeky couple made the monster trek to raise awareness for the event’s Clothes for a Cause appeal, which encourages visitors to donate unwanted walking gear and equipment for Oxfam’s Fabric 4 Life initiative.

Mark, 32, who owns an IT company, said: “We plan to wear only hiking boots, socks and a rucksack.

“As naturists we are completely comfortable in our own skin and will only cover up in poor weather conditions or if asked to do so when passing through populated sections of the hike”.

On Tuesday, the national press reported the couple had been asked to cover their modesty by a PCSO in London but, since then, it is understood they have had barely any trouble.
