KENT businesswoman Sue Piper is facing the challenge of a lifetime as she gears up for the Cederberg Wilderness Trek across South Africa in March.

Having already successfully completed the London Marathon for St John Ambulance, Sue is now preparing for her latest gruelling challenge.

Sue said: “My challenge to undertake the trek will be tough and will mean covering more than 81km of tough terrain starting in Sandriff in searing temperatures and hopefully ending seven days later climbing Table Mountain.

“It’s for a great cause and I am counting on vital support to help reach my sponsorship target.

“St John Ambulance is dedicated to saving lives and is the UK’s leading First Aid and care charity.” In England 44,000 volunteers gave five million hours of their time every year to save, treat and care for others, added Sue.

“In South Africa we will be visiting projects such as the Phelophepa Train which provides vital care to those affected by HIV/AIDS.

“The train travels for 36 weeks each year providing more than a million individuals with health screenings, education, training and treatment.

“South Africa has more people with HIV/AIDS than any other country in the world.

“In supporting me you can also be assured that a percentage of the money raised is going to the St John Ambulance AIDS project in South Africa.”
