More sporting challenges are being sought by runner and teacher Kate Barstow.

She completed the London Marathon with colleague Emily Gallagher in five hours 20 minutes to raise around £4,000 for the children’s charity, Barnardo’s.

Kate is now seeking different sporting challenges while Emily has vowed “to go through it all again to beat my time.”

Kate said: “It was a thrill to finish it, but I have now done my London Marathon and will seek other sporting challenges.”

Science teacher Kate from Margate and English teacher Emily from Broadstairs work at St George’s School in Broadstairs.

Students and staff helped raise £1,000 towards their target through a non-uniform day, home-made cake sale and a raffle.
