ONE of Maidstone's largest estate agents has recently returned from the biggest estate agency conference in Europe. Staff from Page and Wells joined more than 450 of the UK's leading agents at the Homes Sales Network annual conference in Brighton to discuss the challenges facing the industry.

Ian Walker, director of Page and Wells, said: "It was clear from meeting other estate agents at the conference that the industry is now facing challenging times. However, it was noticeable that the mood among delegates at the conference was very upbeat and that in general, the housing market is very solid."

The Home Sale Network conference, which had the theme Driving Our Vision, was held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel and hosted by Penny Mallory, a presenter on Channel 4's Driven show. Keynote speakers included economist Denis Turner, who gave his predictions on the UK economy and housing market, and Adrian Webster, an expert in self-motivation and team building in a sales environment.
