Flagship development gets stamp of approval

HONEYGROVE Properties is celebrating the completion of works at its flagship development, Post Office Square in Tunbridge Wells.

Mayor of the Borough of Tunbridge Wells, Cllr Stanley Ward, declared the building works complete in a ceremony attended by local dignitaries, businesses and new residents.

Before unveiling a commemorative plaque, Cllr Ward spoke of how impressed he was by Honeygrove’s efforts to preserve much of the building’s original materials and features.

He said he had no hesitation in likening the standard of work "to anything that can be found in Park Lane...in fact, this is probably better."

The Mayor also has a special place in his heart for Post Office Square, having been a member of the planning committee that originally granted permission for the development.

He said: "It is gratifying and most interesting to see a project of this magnitude come through to fruition, having been involved from the earliest stage."

Cllr Ward also mentioned two civic awards and a commendation, bestowed on Honeygrove by the Tunbridge Wells Civic Society.

Post Office Square comprises 31 apartments and penthouses, each with a private roof terrace or balcony and each built to the highest specification.

The development has been carefully converted from the town's original post office buildings. Honeygrove strove to retain as much of the historic building's original features.
