Flower show's theme set to reflect Golden Jubilee

A GOLDEN garden is to be this year's theme for Help The Aged at the Chelsea Flower Show from May 22 to 24. According to the organisation, the classically designed garden will reflect the qualities and grandeur of gold in a garden setting.

Set amid the light of golden ponds, five majestic golden yew trees will tower over Chelsea creating a dazzling skyline. Each yew will represent a decade of the Golden Jubilee.

More than 200 roses will frame a golden pathway. Roses have been selected from the Royal Roses Collection launched at Hampton Court Palace Show in July last year. Other features include golden fountains along with regal lion heads enhancing the theme of this garden celebration.

Designer Paul Stone, said: "The garden is an examination and appreciation of gold and all that makes up the concept of gold. I wanted to give the garden a feeling of being very grand."
