Homes made to measure

KENT-based housebuilder Pentland Homes has introduced a scheme for homebuyers at its Bayeuxfields development at Hawkinge, near Folkestone.

The FIT (flexible interior treatment) scheme gives homebuyers an opportunity to re-configure the interior layout of their new property to suit their lifestyle.

Depending on the build stage, and subject to terms and conditions, purchasers can choose the size, shape and location of the rooms within the building’s shell. Working with Pentland’s design team, buyers can add, remove or re-locate interior walls and services to tailor-make the living space.

"Most people looking for a new-build home soon realise that they will have to compromise over some aspect of the interior design," said Martin Hart, managing director of Pentland Homes.

"Do they really want a four-bedroom house, or do they want the space that a four-bedroom house provides?"

Homebuyers who purchase a Pentland property with the FIT option also have an opportunity to re-configure the layout of their home at a later date during their occupancy, depending on the house type and conditions.

Bayeuxfields is close to amenities at Hawkinge, and within easy reach of the M20, the Eurotunnel terminal and Folkestone station.

The 78 properties at Bayeuxfields include a variety of styles, ranging from one-bedroom apartments to five- bedroom detached houses. A two-bedroom apartment starts at £159,000.
