Targeting first-time buyers and young families

WARD Homes’ latest development, Origins in Falcon Way, Ashford, will comprise a combination of homes designed specifically for first-time buyers and young families.

The development of 21 properties will include a mix of one, two and three-bedroom homes.

"It has been well documented that first-time buyers struggle to get on the property ladder, and often the only home available which suits their price bracket is an apartment," said Ward Homes’ sales director, Elaine Dufaur.

"We have specifically designed these new house types for first-time buyers and young families with each home being contemporary in design and affordable. To qualify for one of these homes, house hunters are only allowed to buy a home if they are actually going to live in it.

"There is such a demand for these homes that all interested first-time buyers need to pre-register so that we can complete the necessary mortgage checks. Once prospective purchasers are pre-qualified and the homes are released for sale they will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis."

There are eight, one-bedroom homes, nine, two-bedroom properties and four three-bedroom homes which all comply with modern day building regulations.

However, to help make the move towards reducing carbon emissions, the homes have a range of eco-features incorporated, including some with solar panels in the roofs which controls the heating of the water, high-efficient boilers and water-saving devices including flow restrictors on taps and showers. There are also water butts supplied for outside.

Each of the 21 homes also comes with a cycle storage unit to encourage homebuyers to leave their cars at home and cycle to work.

Prices start from £125,000.
