New motors outlet creates 25 jobs

A MOTOR dealership is driving up jobs by opening a new showroom in Mid Kent.

Maidstone Saab, part of the Greens Motor Group, based in Rainham, has created 25 jobs at its new outlet at Holborough, near Snodland.

The showroom at Vantage Point, Holborough Road, opens for business on July 31.

It has been given a Scandinavian feel to match the marque’s Swedish origins. It will be located alongside its sister Vauxhall franchise and include a parts and service centre.

Saab has been absent from the area for the past four years.

Stephen Handyside, general sales manager at Maidstone Saab, said: "We are delighted to be bringing Saab back to the area.

"There are many loyal Saab customers as well as potential new ones that will benefit from Saab being back in the Maidstone area, and we look forward to welcoming these to our new showroom."

Saab was founded in Sweden in 1937 as Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (Swedish Aircraft Company), producing its first aircraft-inspired passenger car in 1949, with UK sales commencing in 1960. Its latest model is the 9-5 BioPower.
