'I just can't believe what some women put up with from their partners, what the hell do they see in these people?'

.

Who hasn't seen their friend with a new partner and wondered what the hell they see in them?

They are not casually dating and having fun, they are actually deciding to marry and pro-create with these people.

I am not saying my partner is perfect, but I do have some non-negotiables with dating and it boggles my mind that my friends seem to let anything go.

I know of someone whose partner wouldn’t watch a film due to the gay sex scenes. I get it, some people don't like any sex scenes regardless of gender... but somehow I feel like this wasn’t about being a prude.

Another’s partner parties like they are a young, single guy, when in fact they have a child and a wedding on the cards.

Of course people can go out and have a good time but when it’s a regular occurrence and your partner provides the majority of the childcare a Saturday in wouldn’t hurt, would it?

"I really can’t believe certain men (actual adults) are that bad at doing chores..."

Others work long hours not because they have to, but because they want more money.

This is fine, of course it is, but if I was planning to start a family with someone I would want someone who wants to share the load.

Time is the most important thing, and I would rather a partner isn't making more money just so they can buy themselves another Rolex.

Others appear to use weaponised incompetence – where they pretend to be bad at something to get out of doing it. I really can’t believe certain men (actual adults) are that bad at doing chores. Part of me feels like they are still clinging on to the outdated ideal of housewife-era women.

Perhaps these women are more than happy with their position within their relationship, and love their partner the way they are. But come on, surely you deserve more?
