Costa coffee shops recall lunch items over fears they contain small stones

Costa is recalling several food items over fears they may contain small stones.

The coffee shop chain has issued a safety alert for four wraps and sandwich snacks because they could present a choking hazard.

All the items have been declared unsafe to eat by the Food Standards Agency, which has also issued its own alert and recall.

The items affected are:

Chicken & Bacon Caesar Wrap (use by dates of September 6, 7 and 8)

Southern Fried Chicken Wrap (use by dates of September 6, 7 and 8)

Chicken Salad Sandwich (use by dates of September 6, 7 and 8)

BLT sandwich (use by dates of September 6, 7 and 8)

Customers who have bought any of the items above but not yet eaten them, should return them to their nearest branch for a full refund.
