Two rescued from sea near Deal after yacht capsized

Crew from a yacht were rescued from the sea after it capsized.

Coastguard rescue teams were called to the scene off the coast of Deal at about 12.45pm.

The RNLI's inshore and all-weather lifeboats were also sent from Ramsgate, plus the all-weather lifeboat from Walmer.

The crew of three, including one who did not end up in the water, were picked up by passing vessels.

A further two were rescued by other passing boats.

The capsized craft was towed to land at Sandwich Bay by the Ramsgate all-weather lifeboat.

Deal Coastguard Rescue Team was alerted.
