Otford: Daniel Sullivan banned from roads after driving into pond

A man who drove into a pond while over the limit has been banned from the roads.

Daniel Sullivan was arrested after residents in Otford woke to find a silver Nissan Micra abandoned in the village pond earlier this month.

Police were called to the scene, in the High Street, to inspect the silver vehicle balancing on the water's edge.

Sullivan was charged with drink driving shortly after and was bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court yesterday.

The 31-year-old, of Badgers Copse, Orpington, pleaded guilty to the offence and was disqualified from driving for 17 months.

He must also enroll on a drink driving rehabilitation course.

Magistrates' ordered him to pay £150 criminal courts charge, £85 costs, £38 victim surcharge and a £380 fine.
