Appeal for witnesses after Christmas Day fight in Trinity Road car park, Sheerness, Sheppey

Police are appealing for witnesses after two cars were damaged during a fight on Christmas Day.

The incident happened on Saturday in a car park near Trinity Road, Sheerness, on the Isle of Sheppey.

Several people were involved in an altercation at around 6.50am. Police were called and although those involved had left officers later stopped a car at junction 5 of the M2 Sittingbourne turn-off at 9.10am.

Five men in the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of affray. A sixth was found near the scene of the disturbance and detained in connection with the supply of controlled drugs.

PC Josh Davidson of Sittingbourne CID said: "We believe there were several members of the public in the area at the time and are appealing to any witnesses to contact our appeal line.

‘Motorists with dashcam and residents who have private CCTV are also asked to check for footage that may assist our investigation.’

All six arrested men were later bailed to return to the police station on Friday, January 21.
