Boy injured in road accident

A BOY, believed to be around 12 years old, was taken to hospital after a collision in High Street, Sheerness, this afternoon.

Police cordoned off a 100-metre stretch of the High Street outside the Queen’s Head pub where the collision happened just after 2pm.

The driver of a green Peugeot, which had a noticeable dent in its bonnet, was being interviewed by police, as was the driver of a white car which was travelling in the opposite direction, out of Sheerness.

Police cars blocked off access to that stretch of the High Street.

The boy was believed to be in a serious condition as he was taken by ambulance to hospital.
