Cat badly injured by airgun pellet at Sheerness

POLICE are appealing for information after a cat was shot in the leg in the St George’s Avenue area of Sheerness.

It is thought the cat was struck by a pellet fired from an air gun. The incident occurred between 7.30am and 10.30am on Sunday, September 18.

Police say it is estimated the vets bill will be in excess of several hundred pounds. PC Jim Howe said: “This is not only an incredibly cruel act but also a crime. I would urge anyone who may have any helpful information to consider the unnecessary suffering caused to the cat and contact us.”

Anyone able to help police with their enquiries is asked to contact Kent CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.
