Police and air ambulance called to Queensway, Sheerness, after car crashes into two parked vehicles and a wall

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal car crash this morning.

A man died after a blue Mazda 323F reportedly smashed into two unoccupied parked vehicles and a wall before hitting a wall.

The solo driver, aged in his 50s and from the Sittingbourne area, was declared dead at the scene of the crash in Queensway, Sheerness, despite the efforts of medics.

A total of five ambulance vehicles and the air ambulance were called, and police closed the road until 12.30pm.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 8am to reports of an accident in Queensway, Sheerness.

"A car is believed to have crashed into two parked cars and then into a wall.

"The driver, a man, who is thought to be in his 50s, was treated at the scene by medics."

"Officers from the serious collision investigation unit have been called to assess the cause of the crash."

An ambulance spokesman later confirmed the man had died, despite the "best efforts" of medics.

Shortly afterwards, another car crashed into two parked vehicles in a nearby street.

A man was injured in the second accident, which happened at about 8.40am in Berridge Road.

A silver Golf crashed into a grey Volvo and a white Nissan van.

The driver suffered a facial injury which was not thought to be serious. He was treated at the scene by a road ambulance crew.

A recovery vehicle was called to remove the damaged vehicles.
