Leather-clad pensioner headbutts teenage girl

A 16-year-old girl was left shaken but unhurt after being headbutted by an elderly man in Sheerness.

The victim was walking along St George's Avenue with a friend when the attack happened.

A police spokesman said they passed a man, aged around 80, who trod on the back of the girl's leg as the pair approached the junction with Granville Road. She asked him to apologise but instead he lunged forward and headbutted her.

The man then walked off towards Sheerness fire station in the High Street.
He was white, of medium build with grey, ear-length hair and he was wearing a zipped up leather jacket, green trousers and black shoes.

Anyone with information about the attack, which happened at around 3pm on Wednesday, July 22, is urged to contact police on 01795 419182 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
