Motorcyclist fights for life after crash

A 39-year-old family man is fighting for his life in hospital after a crash involving a car.

Rodney Williamson was riding his blue Honda bike when the accident happened at the junction of Marine Parade, Sheerness, and Richmond Street.

The Kent Air Ambulance helicopter landed on the nearby beach and flew Mr Williamson to the Royal London Hospital at Whitechapel. He is believed to have suffered severe head and serious spinal injuries. A hospital spokesperson described his condition as critical but stable.

Mr Williamson, who lives on Sheppey, is believed to have been travelling to work at Bond Shopfitters in New Road, Sheerness.

The crash, involving a dark green Vauxhall Cavalier, happened on Monday at about 1.20pm.
