Emergency services called after person falls onto the tracks at Sheerness-on-Sea railway station

Emergency services were called after a person fell onto the tracks at a railway station.

Power had to be switched off at Sheerness-on-Sea and services were suspended between the town and Sittingbourne.

Police arrived just after 12.30pm, as well as paramedics and firefighters.

The person was recovered from the tracks and taken to hospital with a non life threatening head injury.

Services are expected to resume with the 2:23pm service from Sittingbourne, followed by the 2.47pm service from Sheerness.
