School award for anti-bullying

A School has been recognised for its efforts in stamping out bullying.

Cheyne Middle School has been presented with the Princess Diana Award for anti-bullying.

The school, in Jefferson Road, Sheerness, is already a Princess Diana Gold School, having received several of the awards in the past.

The award was presented this year to the Cheyne Buddies, a group of children who help others talk about problems with bullying.

The Buddies run a club every day and have made a music single called Tell Someone. In the summer they helped put together a DVD about cyber bullying.

All the pupils involved were presented with a certificate and a glass award which will be displayed in the school entrance.

Assistant head teacher Paul Murray said: “We are very proud of them, they always do such good work.

“We have been awarded in the past for work on Beachfields Park, work on the bridge and work at Blackburn Lodge.”
