Kent Fire and Rescue Service called to woman stuck in bathroom in Hope Street, Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey

A woman had to be rescued by firefighters after she found herself trapped in a bathroom in Sheerness when the lock broke.

The unfortunate incident happened at a home in Hope Street, Sheerness, just before 11pm last night.

Crews were called to the family home and freed the older woman by removing part of the door and lock mechanism.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the woman was stuck in the bathroom for about 30 minutes but was fine when they finally got her out.

Firefighters put the door back together before leaving.
