A man has been charged with the attempted burglary of a 90-year-old pensioner's home.

Christopher Swanson, of Peoney Crescent, Sittingbourne, is alleged to have entered the home of the woman in the Woodstock Road area of Sittingbourne in January.

Following inquiries by the Sittingbourne Criminal Investigation Department, the 51-year-old was charged with attempted burglary.

Swanson was due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
