Malcolm Hodges, from Teynham, charged with terrorism offences

A man has been charged with a series of terrorism offences after being arrested at his Kent home.

Malcolm Hodges, 52, of London Road, Teynham, was detained on March 23 by officers investigating communications attempting to incite acts of terrorism towards UK businesses.

This week, he was charged with one count of solicitation to murder under the Offences Against the Person Act.

Hodges is also accused of possessing a digital material "likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism" under the Terrorism Act.

He was charged on Wednesday, when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court.

At the short hearing, he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey later this month.
