A lorry driver found himself in a spot of bother when his vehicle got trapped under a bridge.

Police were called to Station Street, Sittingbourne, at 8.05am this morning following inital reports that the French lorry had crashed into the bridge.

But on arrival they found the lorry driver had managed to free the vehicle.

There was no damage to the bridge and no interruption was caused to train services at Sittingbourne train station. However, the incident did cause minor tailbacks for traffic.
