M2 crash man 'still critical'

A MAN seriously injured in a multi-vehicle pile-up on the M2 last week is today still in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

A Kent Air Ambulance crew took the man to Maidstone Hospital with head and chest injuries after the crash on Wednesday of last week.

The emergency services were called to the scene after an Italian-registered lorry, five cars and a van were involved in the pile-up.

Four other people were taken to Gillingham's Medway Maritime Hospital by road ambulance. Passengers on the coach, about 40 of them, were uninjured.

The accident happened at Lynsted, near Sittingbourne. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to telephone Kent police on 01795 477055.
